Account photo "Great if you have kids!"......   This place is great if you have kids. Bring your bikes! There is plenty to do, always an activity going on, beach, lake, fishing. The kids make friends instantly here. The washrooms are immaculate, there is even a laundry mat. Account photo We have visited this KOA campground two times and we have been very satisfied by the very nice, clean and big pull thru sites that we had. The sites are completely level and long and offer two possibilities to connect hose for our used waters. The campground is licated on a very nice lake and is close from the main road. It's a very nice place for families with kids.

Camping Plage Gagnon Beach in Grand-Barachois, New Brunswick
Account photo "Great place for family vacation "......   Very clean, close to the beach, great place for kids and our dog. Rented there for two weeks was a wonderful place. Great time for the kids as there is a jumping pillow and lots of playgrounds and a green space for games. Adult pool was very nice. There is a lovely spa here as well and we did a mother daughter manicure and pedicure which was delightful. The beach if perfect with the white sand and sand bars that go forever and the water is so warm and clean. Overall this campground is our favourite and we will be booking it for years to come. The seasonal campers and the staff welcomed us and made us feel so at home. See you all this summer.

Rideau Acres Camping Resort in Kingston, Ontario
Account photo "Great campground"......   I have been to this campground a number of times. I find the staff helpful and friendly. My friends and I camp in a tents. Yes, they do have a skunk problem, but the skunks are used to people. In all the times I have been there I never smelled one (that has sprayed), we have even had them come up right beside us while at the camp fire, you just don't startle them and they are fine, they are actually very cute. If you are a smart camper (no matter where you camp), You always store food and garbage where animals can get it or smell it. My friends and I plan on going back this year. If I was every to get a seasonal site I would definitely consider Rideau Acres.

Account photo "Family Fun!!"......   Looking through our vacation photos from last summer and realized that we were going to post a review for these great folks and forgot! Anyone looking for a quiet, fun spot to take your family next summer --- this is it! The Duin family have created a little oasis on Pickerel Lake - great boating, nice little beach for the kids, lots of water activities (slide, water matts, platform, pedal boats, etc.) to keep them busy and everyone is super friendly. We've been to campgrounds like this before where they are mostly seasonals and found them to be pretty unfriendly. Not here - everyone has a smile and wave! If the owners are hosting an event for their seasonals, everyone is welcome. They had a great animal event going on when we were there and our kids went crazy! Our pictures of smiling kids say it all to us. Can't wait to go back next summer - our week is booked!!!

Account photo "Tons of Family Fun"......   We spent a week vacation camping at this lovely campground and had a super time. The campground is located on a nice, quiet lake - my husband and kids caught quite a few fish even though they had a couple of "dry" days. The owners are really great. The wife gives the kids candies and treats which was a mistake on her part really because after she did it once, the kids kept wanting to see her in the Office!!! She didn't seem to mind though. The husband and son, run the place like a well-oiled machine - helping you out with anything you need. Draw backs are the campsites are not private but the super clean washrooms are only steps away. Cell phone service isn't great either but can't expect much when you are this remote. We figured that we should be enjoying the time with our kids and the great scenery anyway! We have booked our stay with them again for next summer and the kids haven't stopped talking about it!! Can't wait to go back!

Camp Barcovan Tent and RV Park in Carrying Place, Ontario
Account photo "Will not be returning not family friendly"......   Website is very deceiving. The overnight spots are not clearly marked and therefor you are packed in any way they can fit you, creating a difficult situation with your neighbours. It caused confusion and fighting between campers that you had to stay beside. You may have just enough space to open your awning but will be inches away from the neighbour beside you creating no privacy at all. Definitely not a family friendly campground like the website says. Not much to do for the kids there. There is no beach, just a pool with a broken hot tub that looks like it hasn't been used for years. Although the owners were nice to my family, I witnessed on more than one occasion the owners being very rude and yelling at young kids, which made me very uncomfortable for leaving my kids alone to play. The kids park was run down and not maintained, i didn't want my kids playing on it as it looked dangerous and was worried they would get hurt. I would not recommend this park to anyone especially families.

Elora Gorge Conservation Area in Elora, Ontario
Account photo "Camp site with low privacy. Rude camp ranger"......   We arrived on Wednesday at 5PM and immediately were surprised by the less than 5 meters distance between our tent pad and the nearest neighbor (there is not any trees or shrubs in between). After setting up our tent and finish simple meal. We went to play frisbee in the green space, then rest in the pavilion to have some boardgames. We jogged back to tent around 8:30PM and went to bed by 9. We woke up ~7:30AM next morning and while we had breakfast, we were being told we had made excessive noise late last night and early this morning. Due to our neighbor complaint, the camp ranger made the call to kick us out immediately, and we have to pack up in an hour then leave... We were so surprised and went to the office to discuss with the park ranger: 1) We went to the green space away from camping area to minimize the disturbance and went to bed at 9PM. Did that mean we need to be in complete silence even playing sport in playground and green space? 2) We woke up at 7:30AM, and probably the cooking noise woke up our neighbor. It is difficult for us not making any noise during cooking, while another tent was just steps away... 3) The provided silence hours rule is 11PM to 7AM, and we did not break the rule 3) Without any warning or onsite investigation, the camp ranger sent someone to kick us out. We prepaid for 4 days fee and could only sleep there one night... The received response was He is the camp ranger, and he can kick out anyone at his own discretion with the right not providing any warning or refund. There was no room for discussion, and we were being kicked out immediately...

Account photo "rude staff horrible owners "......   Our Labour day 2016 weekend was very disappointing at Woodlands. The staff/owners were incredibly rude to deal with. There was a mistake due to a booking change they had made and they flat out refused to credit us back our money. Then just laughed when we stated that we will never camp here again. We have been coming here with a group of 8 (some years more) for the last 6 years. And they treated us like we were just garbage. There are many other campgrounds around Sauble Beach to stay at I would highly recommend one of them. http://www.saubleresortcamp.com/ http://www.carsonscamp.com/ http://www.windingrivercampground.com/ http://www.whitesandscampground.com/ I am sure one of these other places will actually appreciate your business. Read the reviews on here, everyone that "loved " their stay never once had to deal with the staff or owners. To be fair we never did until this year either and look at the outcome.

Burnaby Cariboo RV Park in Burnaby, British Columbia
Account photo "solidwelding.andrew@gmail.com"......   BCRV is a beautiful park with a great location to the GVA. With a decent staff. The one main flaw is that it's used to only dealing with tourists from other countries. They have no interest in treating loyal customers with any decency or respect. No matter how many times you visit or how how long you stay. And don't cross the owner's older immature son that claims to run the place, by the name KIm... He enjoy's making up unrealistic rules and isn't afraid to swear in front of children until he get's his way. The park would be an oasis if the cost was a bit more reasonable for long term guests and treated them as if they were appreciated. And most importantly if the owners immature son Kim would step aside and let someone with a little more respect and couth manage the place.

Loch Lomond Tent and Trailer Park in Amherst, Nova Scotia
Account photo I was very disappointed with this campground. In previous years, we have stayed there and the owners were pretty easy to get along with. That did not happen this time...our children were told to get off the playground when they were not doing anything wrong, friends (with young children)who were visiting us (and who had paid $3 each) wanted to actually stay the night and were willing to pay, they were told that the did not reserve ahead of time and could not stay which I find ridiculous. Also, there were only 7 unisex washrooms for the whole campground.....not enough.

Granite Ridge Campground in Kearney, Ontario
Account photo "Worst camping experience of my life!!!!!!"......   AWFUL!!!!!! My girlfriend and I drove to Granite Ridge because the website showed nice photos and described how it is wilderness camping with quiet time from 11pm-9am. Anything BUT quiet!!!!!! Young kids with a monster boat (website says no gas powered boats or watercraft allowed) got the site right beside us even though there were about a dozen empty sites on the other side of us. Music and yelling until 4am!!!! When I asked them to turn it down as we were trying to sleep, I received an 'ummmm no!! It's going to get louder!! from or of the self-entitled 20 somethings. Called the owner to complain at 230 am. The husband came and told them to keep it down. They turned the music off until he left and then turned it back on again. This music source was maybe 20' from our tent. Ended up sleeping in the car!!! Asked twice for a refund for this one night...by phone and by email....didn't even receive a reply back. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place at all costs!!!! Dirty, noisy, and crappy customer service!!! We will NNNNNNEVER go back there ever again!!!!!! Some other points I forgot to mention: Yellow water in a lot of the outdoor hookups which looked identical to urine!!! No garbage bins anywhere!!! Roads through the campground are full of potholes!! Rules are not enforced on any real level!

Dinosaur Trailer Park in Drumheller, Alberta
Account photo "Has potential"......   I guess we're are used to more natural settings and more privacy. It had rained the night before. It was like a muddy parking lot. RV's are very close together. Couldn't reach the service connections because of the mud. Many of the sites had standing water/mud. Not my idea of a good time, but I'm used to more space. Recommendations: spend some money on crushed gravel to eliminate the mud, and a fence or hedge to separate the rows of campers for some privacy. This could be a very nice park if some effort was put in to improvements and maintenance.

Account photo "Shame shame"......   With there being quite a number of campgrounds in the area I been going to some beforehand to get a map of the park and take a look at the camp sites. I have done this probably 10 campgrounds in the area and they have all been more than willing to let us take a drive through. Having read the reviews on Gagnon Beach this sounded like a good place to go. When we arrived you could see the trailers were very close to each other. We were told they have the odd campsite for overnitghters scattered here and there. When we asked if we could take a drive through to see the camp sites we were told no. What the? We very quickly scratched this campground off our list and will not even consider going there. Very poor attitude.

So why? - Staff: You might do something - Me: To the campsite? Like what, empty the minibar? If you want pls come an check in the morning. - Staff: I will call management. This took approx. 10 minutes then, we gracefully accepted. They gave us the worst site in the campground at the highest rate (all other sites were empty). The boss" didn't dare to show himself. Pleasure Park Campground and RV Resort in Mallorytown, Ontario
Account photo "Don't Get Ripped Off"......   You have to pay extra (and often twice) for everything at this "Resort". This was the 3rd time we stayed there this year. Prior to leaving home, I put 10 gallons of water to slosh around in the black tank while travelling and when I arrived, because there are no full service sites, I emptied the black tank at the dump stations at the entrance before checking in. I was then advised that there was an $18 charge for dumping even though I was staying at the park ! This is not written anywhere and when I requested to speak to an owner/manager I was advised that it was the Owner who told the check-in to make sure I was charged the dumping fee. Unfortunately, I had already pre-paid my site with a credit card deposit and they would not allow me in without paying their fabricated dumping fee. I could understand if I was not staying at the campground, but when I was staying there for 3 nights ? I had intended to stay a 4th night the Sunday night, however I paid the dumping fee instead. On the previous stay, I was advised that my wife had only paid half the fees and I would have to pay them before being allowed into the park. As my wife was not with me on this trip I was unable to verify with her and when I was able to show them the visa slip, they had to "investigate" before they could refund the double payment. The next day they begrudgingly refunded the double payment. On this trip, my wife came down in her car with her parents and when entering the park she tried to tell them that I had already paid "additional visitors" fees when entering and the gate said no they had not. When I went back up to the front gate with the receipts, again they had to "investigate" for a day before begrudgingly providing a refund. I fully understand that mistakes can be made but the fact that every time we go we get overcharged which requires an "investigation" before a refund can be made seems to be more than a mere coincidence with the hope that people will be on holiday and will not check whether they have been double charged and over-charged. Don't forget to budget $3 per person per day for dingy pay showers and for the $16 pump out fees if you are unfortunate enough to stay long enough to fill you tanks. Make sure you calculate all the additional visitor fees if you are more than a family of 3 when staying here. If you want a campfire, you are required to buy wood on site from the owners so that will add another $25 to $30 per night if you want a campfire. Do not stay here if rain is forecast as most of the non-seasonal sites become a swamp. We camp on average 40 nights per year for last 20 years and are familiar with fees that are charged at KOA and other private campgrounds and do not have a problem as long as they are posted and up front. I have never seen the level of nickel and diming as at this campground. Perhaps if the owners of this "Resort" read some of the reviews and cleaned up their act and provided reasonable service rather than focusing on squeezing every last nickel and dime out of the few people that still go there, they would have to whine and complain on their website about having to pay income tax like other businesses. There are many other much better campgrounds in the vicinity.
